Olly Lovin' Libido Review: Do the Silver Pills Work?

Lovin’ Libido is a supplement sold by a brand called Olly Vitamins. It’s used to increase sex drive, and the brand claims that this supplement can “rev things up in all the right places” and “support sexual satisfaction for women.”

But does this supplement contain research-backed ingredients for improving sex drive? Does it contain any unhealthy ingredients? What was our Product Tester's experience trying this supplement for a month? And is Olly Lovin' Libido better or worse than other popular libido supplements like Ristela?

In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Olly Lovin’ Libido to give our take on whether or not the supplement is likely to be effective, and whether or not it's healthy.

We'll also share our Product Tester's honest experience after trying Olly Lovin' Libido for a month, discuss the risk of side effects, and compare the supplement to other popular libido supplements to pick our winners (and losers).

Key takeaways:

  • Contains active ingredients shown to improve sex drive in women
  • Highly affordable
  • We don't currently recommend Olly Lovin' Libido due to an ingredient disclosure concern

Ingredient Analysis

The active ingredients in Olly Lovin' Libido are shown below:

Olly Lovin' Libido active ingredients

Ashwagandha extract is a botanical ingredient that was shown in a clinical trial published in the BioMed Research International journal to improve sex drive in women.

Trial participants took either placebo capsules or ashwagandha extract capsules. After eight weeks, women taking the ashwagandha extract capsules experienced a 19% improvement in sexual function and desire compared to the placebo group.

The dose used in this trial is exactly the same as the dose in Olly’s supplement.

Damiana extract is a popular aphrodisiac, but we can’t find any clinical evidence that it improves sex drive or sexual function in women specifically.

A 2009 clinical trial found that this compound improved sex drive in male rats, but the dosage used was significantly higher than the equivalent human dosage in Olly’s supplement.

Maca extract is a more concentrated version of maca, which was tested in a clinical trial published in the Menopause journal for its effects on sexual function in women.

The researchers found that maca not only improved sexual dysfunction, but also improved anxiety and depression scores.

The inactive ingredients in this supplement are shown below:

Olly Lovin' Libido inactive ingredients

Milk is listed as an ingredient, but milk or its derivatives are not included in any of the active or inactive ingredient lists which is highly confusing to us.

When we initially published this article, an ingredient called candurin silver was listed as a colorant, and we expressed our concerns about the safety of that compound.

Since the publication of our article, Olly removed that ingredient.

Overall, we consider Olly Lovin’ Libido likely to be effective for improving sex drive in women, given that all three of its active ingredients have research backing.

We don't currently recommend this supplement due to our confusion about the milk ingredient disclosure, but we do consider it to be a better-than-average formulation for the supplement category of libido enhancers.

We Tested Olly Lovin’ Libido

UGC of Olly Lovin' Libido bottle and capsules on Illuminate Labs Product Tester Jodie Steinberg's coffee table

One of our product testers named Jodie Steinberg tried Olly Lovin' Libido for a month. Here's her experience:

The product arrives in a standard flip-top bottle commonly used for supplements. I had no issues with the packaging or using the product.

I did not notice any taste or smell from the product.

The product claims to help women uninterested in and unsatisfied with sex.

I found that the product did help with desire, which has been difficult for me given my perimenopause symptoms.

This was not a miracle cure, but I definitely noticed improvement. I only took this for a month, and full effects take eight weeks, so I expect further improvements.

I did not experience any side effects from Olly Lovin' Libido.

Overall, I would rate this supplement 7/10 and would consider purchasing it again in the future.

Will Olly Lovin’ Libido Cause Side Effects?

Olly Lovin’ Libido doesn’t appear to have been studied in any clinical trials, so we can’t say confidently whether or not the supplement causes side effects.

However, we can make an educated guess based on its ingredients.

All three of the active ingredients are well-studied and are included at safe doses. We haven’t seen any clinical evidence that these compounds typically cause side effects.

There is no mention of side effects on the product page on the brand's website at the time of updating this article.

Overall, we do not believe that Olly Lovin’ Libido is likely to cause side effects.

Olly Lovin' Libido vs. Popular Libido Supps

Here's how Olly Lovin' Libido compares to other popular women's libido supplements in terms of potential effectiveness and healthiness, in our opinion:

Ristela

Contains an inactive ingredient which is banned in the EU for use as a food additive, over genotoxicity conerns.

Winner: Olly Lovin' Libido

Tabs Chocolate

Contains two inactive ingredients that we consider to be unhealthy.

Also, as we documented in our Tabs Chocolate review, our Product Tester had a mediocre experience with that supplement, whereas our Product Tester had a positive experience with Olly Lovin' Libido.

Winner: Olly Lovin' Libido

Pink Pussycat Pill

Manufacturer received an FDA warning letter indicating contamination with a hidden drug ingredient.

Winner: Olly Lovin' Libido

Conclusion

Olly Lovin’ Libido is a well-formulated supplement for female sex drive enhancement.

All three of the active ingredients are clinically shown to improve sex drive, and two of them are shown to improve sex drive in women specifically.

We don’t currently recommend the supplement due to a strange ingredient disclaimer about milk, but otherwise this is a better-than-average formulation.

We don’t believe that this supplement is likely to cause side effects, because all of its active ingredients should be non-toxic at the stated doses.

Our Product Tester tried Olly Lovin' Libido for a month and had a positive experience: she claimed that it enhanced her libido and was side-effect-free.

While we don't currently recommend Olly Lovin' Libido, we consider it to be a healthier option than female libido supplements Ristela, Tabs Chocolate and Pink Pussycat Pill.
