Complement Daily Greens Review: The Best Superfood Blend?

Daily Greens is a green powder supplement sold by a brand called Complement. The company describes this supplement as a "superfood mix" to support "energy levels" and whole body health.

But does Complement Daily Greens contain ingredients shown in studies to support optimal health? Does the brand use any unhealthy ingredients? What was our experience testing it for a month? And is Complement Daily Greens better or worse than popular green powders like AG1?

In this article we'll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Complement Daily Greens to give our take on whether or not it's likely to support optimal health.

We'll also compare Complement Daily Greens to other popular greens powders to pick our winners (and losers), and share our honest experience purchasing and trying it for a month.

Key takeaways:

  • All whole food active ingredients
  • Inactive ingredients are clean and non-toxic
  • We currently recommend Complement Daily Greens

Ingredient Analysis

The active ingredients in Complement Daily Greens are shown below:

Complement Daily Greens active ingredients

All of these ingredients are nutrient-dense, and some have impressive research backing for particular health functions.

Barley grass "is the best functional food that provides nutrition and eliminates toxins from cells in human beings" according to a 2018 medical review.

Moringa is a plant that can help protect the liver, according to a medical review published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

Broccoli sprouts reduced levels of an inflammatory marker by 56% in a clinical trial published in the Clinical Nutrition journal.

Chlorella is clinically shown to healthy blood pressure and blood sugar levels, as we documented in our review of Live Conscious Collagen Peptides, another brand that includes this ingredient.

The inactive ingredients in this green powder are shown below:

Complement Daily Greens inactive ingredients

All of the inactive ingredients should be safe and non-toxic.

We appreciate that even the inactive ingredients in this formulation include nutrient-dense ingredients like lemon juice and apple powder.

Organic natural flavors is a higher quality and safety standard than natural flavors in our opinion, based on USDA flavoring guidelines.

Complement Daily Greens is rich in naturally-occurring (rather than synthetic, added) vitamins and minerals, and provides 46% of the Daily Value (DV) of chromium, 50% of the DV of iron and 35% of the DV of vitamin A in one serving.

Overall, we recommend this product's formulation and we consider it likely to support optimal health.

We Tested Daily Greens

Complement Daily Greens UGC

As the author of this article, I wanted to try Complement Daily Greens myself to share my thoughts on the taste, effects and convenience.

I'm not someone who typically uses green powder products because I eat vegetables with most of my meals, but I found Daily Greens to be really useful when it was late and I was too lazy to go to the grocery store and buy fresh veggies, as was the case in the picture above.

I also would sometimes start my morning with Daily Greens after my coffee for a natural energy boost.

This is the best-tasting green powder that I've tried to date. It's slightly sweet due to the stevia, but it actually tastes like a green powder and not artificial sludge like some of the other products I've tried.

The powder blends well into water, and my only minor complaint is that there's no scooper in the packet, which would improve convenience.

Overall, I'd rate this product 9/10 and it will be my go-to green powder moving forward.

I still don't personally use green powder daily, but having this in the house is a nice "insurance plan" of sorts for me.

Complement Daily Greens vs. Popular Green Powders

Here's how Complement Daily Greens compares to other popular green powders in terms of healthiness:

AG1

Athletic Greens' flagship product has a potent formulation, but also contains two inactive ingredients we consider potentially unhealthy.

Natural flavor is a poorly-defined term which may include unhealthy compounds such as preservatives.

Winner: Complement Daily Greens

Primal Greens

Contains a strange active ingredient called "fungal amylase" that we can't find safety data on, as we documented in our Primal Greens reviews article.

Winner: Complement Daily Greens

Balance of Nature

One of the most popular fruit and veggie supplements, this capsule supplement is free of unhealthy additives, but is produced by a questionable manufacturer.

The company behind Balance of Nature has received an FDA Warning Letter, and published extremely strange and unscientific "research" on rats before our article called them out for this practice.

Winner: Complement Daily Greens

Are Broccoli Sprouts a Superfood?

Dr. Alan Mandell has a popular YouTube channel called "motivationaldoc" that discusses why one of the chemical compounds in broccoli sprouts (an ingredient in Daily Greens) may have potent health benefits:

Complement Daily Greens Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Rich in naturally-occurring nutrients
  • All organic ingredients
  • Contains broccoli sprouts
  • Contains chlorella
  • Uses organic natural flavors instead of natural flavors
  • Much better taste than most green powders we've tried
  • Free shipping from brand's website

Cons:

  • Hard to find customer reviews on YouTube and TikTok

Conclusion

Complement Daily Greens is our top green powder pick at the time of publishing this article due to its clean formulation.

This green powder contains some of the most nutrient-dense greens, with some of the most impressive research backing, and is entirely free of inactive ingredients that we consider to be unhealthy.

We tried this product ourselves and liked the taste and convenience. It can be a healthy way to start your day when you're on-the-go or don't have the time to grocery shop.

We consider Complement Daily Greens to be better-formulated and to be a healthier choice than Balance of Nature, AG1 and Primal Greens.
