Drachen Review: Can Oral Spray Fix ED?

Drachen Review: Can Oral Spray Fix ED?

| |
| |

Drachen is a male enhancement supplement in the form of an oral spray that’s sold on Amazon and on the brand’s website. The brand’s website describes this product as “The World’s First Male Growth Activator,” and suggests it can improve erection quality and sexual health.

But does Drachen contain research-backed ingredients for improving erections and sex quality? Does it contain any unhealthy additives? Is the manufacturer making false claims? And how do real users rate and describe the effects of Drachen?

In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Drachen to give our take on whether or not the supplement is likely to be effective, and whether or not it's safe.

We’ll also share our concerns about the ingredient doses, and feature real Drachen customer reviews.

Notice: At the time of updating this article, Drachen appears to have been removed from the market. To see our current men's health supplement picks, scroll down to the section of this article titled "Our Clean Men's Health Picks."

Ingredient Analysis

Drachen ingredients

The ingredients in Drachen are shown above.

Some of these ingredients have been shown in clinical studies to improve erections.

L-arginine is an amino acid which was shown in a medical review published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine to “significantly” improve erection quality.

This is because it increases nitric oxide levels in the body, which widens blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.

GABA was indirectly shown to cause erections in an animal study published in 1994. We can’t find any trials proving its effectiveness in humans.

Mucuna pruriens was shown to have favorable effects on erection quality in a 2020 clinical trial on rats. However, an extract was used in the trial, while the less potent, non-extracted version is used in Drachen.

There are two inactive ingredients in this formulation that we consider questionable from a health perspective.

Potassium sorbate is a synthetic preservative which was described as “clearly seen to be genotoxic” in a clinical trial published in the Toxicology in Vitro journal.

This suggests that it can be damaging to human DNA.

Natural flavors is a broad categorical term that fails to describe the specific flavoring agents used.

As we documented in our Nugenix GH Boost reviews article on another male enhancement supplement, clinical studies have shown that some natural flavoring compounds may be harmful to human health.

Overall, we consider Drachen to be potentially effective for improving erection quality and treating erectile dysfunction (ED), given that it has a few research-backed ingredients.

However, the ingredient doses are what we take issue with, as we’ll discuss in the next section.

Ingredient Dose Disclosure Issues

At the time of publishing this article, Drachen failed to clearly publish ingredient doses for any of their ingredients either on their website or Amazon listing.

Without ingredient doses, it’s impossible to know if any ingredient is likely to be effective or if it’s safe.

A supplement ingredient may be effective at a 200 milligram (mg) dose, but ineffective at 20 mg. It also may be unsafe at 1,000 mg.

It’s a consumer safety issue for a brand to fail to clearly publish ingredient doses, and a red flag of a low-quality brand. We recommend that consumers avoid supplement companies that fail to clearly publish active ingredient doses.

There was also a different ingredient list on the Drachen website and Drachen Amazon listing.

As shown below, Drachen’s website listed “moomiyo” and l-dopa as active ingredients:

Neither of these ingredients are included in the ingredient list on Amazon, which we featured in the previous section.

This is another serious consumer safety issue which we urge the brand to immediately rectify. Consumers may be allergic or sensitive to certain ingredients, and it’s a risk to their health to publish inaccurate ingredient lists.

Highly Questionable Health Claims

There are a number of uncited and unscientific health claims on Drachen’s website that we disagree with.

Drachen questionable health claim 1

The brand refers to a “trial” which suggests that their supplement has been studied in a clinical trial. However, we can’t find any evidence that Drachen has been studied in a clinical trial, nor does the brand appear to link to any on their website.

Drachen questionable health claim 2

Drachen claims that their supplement can help users “strengthen your penile muscles” without providing any proof or explanation as to how.

Erectile supplements typically work by increasing blood flow to the penis. We haven’t seen any clinical evidence that supplements can improve penile muscle function.

Drachen questionable health claim 3

The website also claims that Drachen contains “12 natural ingredients,” which is an extremely strange claim given that the ingredient section above only showcases six ingredients, and the Amazon listing only shows 9 ingredients.

What are the additional ingredients referenced here?

We consider it to be a red flag of a low-quality supplement brand to make bold health claims without providing any proof of those claims.

Our Clean Men's Health Picks

Illuminate Labs Panax Ginseng Extract is our top erection quality pick.

Panax ginseng was shown in a clinical trial published in The Journal of Urology to increase erectile function scores "significantly" compared to participants taking placebo pills.

MBG Vitamin D3 Potency+ is our top testosterone support pick.

Vitamin D3 supplementation has been clinically shown to increase total testosterone levels by over 25%.

Both of the products recommended in this section are entirely free of ingredients that we consider unhealthy.

Customers Rate Drachen

Amazon is a better resource for honest customer reviews than a brand’s website in our opinion.

When we initially published this article, Drachen had been reviewed over 100 times on Amazon, and had an average review rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars.

A top positive review from a verified purchaser comes from a user named “Austin” who gave the product a 5/5 rating:

“I haven't exactly measured myself, I'm pretty sure I would've noticed a difference in regard to size. What I have noticed however is the consistency afterwards, there was indeed quite a bit of difference in relation to thickness and brightness.”

A top negative review from a verified purchaser was written by a user named “Larry W.” who gave the product a 1/5 rating:

“I have tried almost every male enhancement product on this site none of them do anything to help you at all. The seller is ripping us off through our ignorance to the product. I will never buy another product like this again. It's all one big scam.”

Conclusion

Drachen is one of the worst male enhancement supplements we’ve reviewed to date on Illuminate Health, and we do not currently recommend this supplement.

While Drachen does contain some ingredients shown in clinical studies to be effective for improving erection quality, the manufacturer fails to clearly publish the respective ingredient doses.

The brand’s website doesn’t even have a clearly-published full ingredient list, instead only featuring six of the 12 active ingredients.

There are a number of questionable and entirely uncited health claims on the Drachen website, including the suggestion that the supplement can improve penile muscle function.

At the time of updating this article, it appears that Drachen has been removed from the market.
