Hormone Harmony Review: Women's Health Miracle?

Disclaimer: None of the information in this article constitutes medical advice, and is just the opinion of the writer(s). We recommend that patients follow their doctor’s guidance in regard to hormonal issues.

Hormone Harmony is a supplement from a brand called Happy Mammoth which is used to optimize hormone levels and help manage weight. The brand claims that their supplement is scientifically proven to work within 30 days.

But is Hormone Harmony actually proven to work? Does it contain any unhealthy ingredients? What was our Product Tester's experience trying it for a month? And is it better or worse than popular hormonal health supps like Primal Queen?

In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Hormone Harmony to give our take on whether or not it's likely to be effective, and whether or not it's healthy.

We'll also feature our Product Tester's honest experience trying the supplement for a month, highlight some questionable claims on the brand's website, and compare Hormone Harmony to other popular women's health supplements to pick our winners (and losers).

Key takeaways:

  • Brand makes clinical efficacy claims we strongly disagree with
  • Contains some research-backed active ingredients for female hormonal support
  • We do not currently recommend Hormone Harmony

Highly Questionable Health Claims

Happy Mammoth makes a number of highly questionable health claims about Hormone Harmony that we disagree with.

As shown below, the brand claims that this supplement is “scientifically shown” to work in 30 days.

If Hormone Harmony has never been studied in a clinical trial, how can the brand claim that it’s proven to work within 30 days?

Hormone Harmony questionable health claim 1

We can’t find any clinical trials on Hormone Harmony and the brand doesn’t link to any on the product page.

The brand makes another specific health claim in one of their product images, suggesting that the supplement “triggers an 87% reduction in symptoms of hormonal imbalances:”

This claim is uncited, and again, we have no idea how the brand is making this claim without a clinical trial.

Beyond these specific health claims, the entire premise of the supplement is illogical in our opinion.

How can one dietary supplement be “hormone-balancing” for all women, when different women have different hormone levels?

If Woman A has high levels of estrogen that need to be reduced, and Woman B has high levels of cortisol that need to be reduced, how can the same supplement resolve both conditions?

It seems more logical to speak with a doctor to get blood testing and medical treatment for suspected hormonal issues, rather than take a dietary supplement to treat unconfirmed hormonal issues.

As we referenced in our review of the hormone type quiz, only a blood test ordered at a doctor’s office can identify which hormones (if any) are imbalanced, so that the patient and doctor can discuss a targeted way to treat these hormones.

Ingredient Analysis

The ingredients in Hormone Harmony are shown below:

Hormone Harmony Supplement Facts label

Fennel seed was shown in a clinical trial published in the Menopause journal to reduce menopausal symptoms (such as hot flashes and mood changes) and increase sexual desire.

Maca was shown to have a hormone-balancing effect in post-menopausal women in a 2006 clinical trial.

Ashwagandha extract can improve libido in women, as we documented in our Olly Lovin’ Libido review article on another supplement containing this ingredient.

Berberine extract may be an effective way to improve insulin and metabolic parameters, at least for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), according to a clinical trial published in the Nutrients journal.

Clearly there are a number of research-backed ingredients in this formulation, and it’s a good thing that the inactive ingredients are safe and non-toxic.

We don’t recommend this product overall because, while it may benefit the health of some women, it’s an illogical approach in our opinion to take a supplement to treat “hormones” generally, without knowing which hormones (if any) require treatment.

We Tested Hormone Harmony

One of our product testers named Dr. Aly Goldstein used Hormone Harmony for a full month.

Here's her experience:

The product experience was excellent. I loved the look and feel of the branding. The box and the bottle were both simple and easy to open.

I can be pretty sensitive to supplements with flavoring or a distinct taste, and the taste of the Hormone Harmony supplements was not noticeable.

Overall, I had a great experience with this product. I experienced significantly less symptoms leading up to my period, namely fewer hot flashes, cramps, and less “period flu” symptoms than I typically have.

I also got my period exactly on time, and had noticeably more energy and less bloating during my period. I was really thrilled with these changes.

As far as side effects, I had a lot of trouble sleeping the first few days on this supplement, even though I took it in the morning with breakfast.

I definitely plan to continue taking this supplement, and would rate it 9/10!

Does Hormone Harmony Cause Side Effects?

Hormone Harmony does not appear to have been studied in any clinical trials, which makes it challenging to say for certain whether or not the supplement is likely to cause side effects.

However, we can make an educated guess based on its stated ingredients.

Fennel extract, which is the highest-dose ingredient in this product, may cause indigestion in some individuals, according to a 2024 medical review, but we consider this unlikely at the stated dose.

Overall, we do not consider Hormone Harmony likely to cause side effects in healthy individuals.

All of the active and inactive ingredients in this supplement appear safe and effectively dosed, but consumers may wish to take breaks from its use regularly to assess whether or not it’s causing side effects.

The brand's website currently states the following, in regard to side effects:

"In very rare cases, some people experience adverse reactions."

Hormone Harmony vs. Popular Hormone Supps

Here's how Hormone Harmony compares to other popular women's hormonal health supplements, in terms of formulation quality, in our opinion:

Primal Queen

This brand's (self-reported) third-party testing document revealed heavy metal levels that concern us.

Hormone Harmony is the safer choice.

Winner: Hormone Harmony

Nativas Organics

This brand sells a gelatinized maca powder that's one of the best single-ingredient supplements for women's health.

As we documented in our article on libido supplements for women, maca is clinically shown to significantly enhance libido in women.

However, Hormone Harmony is likely to have a broader effect and to be more effective for negative symptom relief, giving it the (slight) edge from a potential efficacy perspective.

Winner: Hormone Harmony

Anna's Wild Yam Cream

This is a topical product used to relieve hormonal symptoms in women.

While it contains naturally-derived ingredients, we were unable to identify any research-backed active ingredients in our analysis.

Hormone Harmony has the advantage from a potential efficacy perspective.

Winner: Hormone Harmony

Conclusion

Hormone Harmony may be effective for some women, given that it contains some research-backed ingredients like maca which can have hormone-balancing effects on post-menopausal women.

We don’t currently recommend this supplement because taking a dietary supplement to treat hormone issues, without first knowing hormone levels, seems like an illogical approach.

It seems unlikely that one product could treat hormone levels in all women, given that different women experiencing different hormone issues will require unique approaches.

We consider this supplement to be relatively well-formulated and free of any questionable additive ingredients, but we don’t exactly understand who the target consumer is.

Women who believe they’re experiencing hormone issues may wish to speak with a doctor to get a hormone panel done, which is typically covered by health insurance.

Our Product Tester tried Hormone Harmony for a month straight and claimed to experience some relief from hormonal symptoms.
