Certification Criteria
When a brand submits a product for certification, our team of doctors and researchers review safety and efficacy data on both active and inactive ingredients found on the product label. The review is focused on clinical studies published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Illuminate Labs Certified™ products must contain at least one active ingredient that's effectively dosed for the stated functional goal, and must be free of ingredients that we consider to pose a health risk based on toxicological and environmental studies.

Formulation Criteria
When a brand requests to partner on an Illuminate Labs Formulated™ product, our team of doctors and researchers source effective and safe ingredients based on the desired functional outcome. We review clinical studies published in peer-reviewed medical journals as a part of this process.
Active ingredients in Illuminate Labs Formulated™ products are effectively dosed for the stated functional goal, and Illuminate Labs Formulated™ products are free of ingredients that we consider to pose a health risk based on toxicological and environmental studies.
Illuminate Labs Formulated™ products must undergo, and publish, third-party testing for label accuracy and contaminants for every product batch.
