Obvi is a dietary supplement manufacturer that sells a product called Collagenic Burn. The product is marketed as a weight loss and beauty supplement in one.
But does Obvi Collagenic Burn contain an effective collagen dose for anti-aging? Does it have ingredients for cause weight loss? Did our Product Tester lose weight after testing it for 30 days? And is the Elite version more likely to be effective?
In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Obvi Collagenic Burn to give our take on whether or not this supplement is likely to be effective for skin quality and weight loss, and whether or not it's healthy.
We'll also feature our Product Tester's honest experience and weight loss results after testing it for a month, discuss if Obvi Collagenic Burn Elite is better, and compare Obvi to other popular weight loss supplement brands like SkinnyFit to pick our winners (and losers).
Key takeaways:
- Our Product Tester lost 10 lb
- Contains four ingredients we consider unhealthy
- We do not currently recommend Obvi Collagenic Burn
Ingredient Analysis
Obvi Collagenic Burn contains a large number of active ingredients, so we’re breaking our Ingredient Analysis into two sections.
The vitamin and mineral ingredients are shown below:

Chromium is a mineral that’s been associated in research studies with weight loss, although “the magnitude of the effect is small” according to a medical review published in the Obesity Reviews journal.
Obvi provides 457% of the Daily Value (DV) of chromium, and it may be unsafe to take such a high mineral dose for extended periods of time. We’d certainly recommend consulting with a doctor before doing so.
Biotin is frequently used to promote hair growth, although clinical studies suggest that it has no effects in non-deficient adults.
We can’t find any clinical evidence backing the other two vitamins and minerals in this blend for either skin or weight optimization, nor does Obvi cite any on their product page.
The remaining active ingredients in this formulation are shown below:

Collagen is included at a total dose of 1 gram (g).
As we documented in our Native Path Collagen reviews article, a meta-study we analyzed suggests the effective dosing range of collagen to be between 2.5 g and 10 g daily.
We consider the dose in Obvi to be underdosed for skin quality improvement.
Green tea extract is effective for weight loss, but is an ingredient consumers should be cautious of in our opinion.
A review published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology described green tea extract as a "potential cause of acute liver failure."
CLA is another likely effective ingredient for weight loss with a questionable safety profile.
As we documented in our Night Shred reviews article, this ingredient is clinically shown to increase insulin resistance and cause oxidative stress at the dose required to cause weight loss.
Raspberry ketone was shown in an animal study to cause weight loss, but at an equivalent dose much higher than that in Obvi’s supplement.
The inactive ingredients in Obvi Collagenic Burn are shown below:

We apologize for the low quality of this image; it's the image published by the brand.
Titanium dioxide is an inactive ingredient that was banned in the EU for use as a food additive over toxicity concerns. The EU has superior consumer protections in our opinion than the US.
Overall, we consider Obvi Collagenic Burn somewhat likely to be effective for weight loss given the inclusion of green tea extract and CLA.
We do not currently recommend this supplement for health reasons, due to our concerns over chromium, CLA, green tea extract and titanium dioxide.
We Tested Obvi Collagenic Burn
One of our product testers named Joshua Martinez tried Obvi Collagenic Burn for 30 days and tracked his weight.
Here's his experience:

This product was easy to use and came in a standard supplement package that was sealed with a silica pack.
Since this product was in a pill form, there really was no taste when taking this daily.
Compared to other weight loss products I've tried, this is a pretty standard fat burner.
I tracked my weight before and after a month of using Obvi Collagenic burn. My starting weight was 186 pounds (lb), and after 30 days of taking this supplement with regular exercise and a calorie deficit, I was able to cut 10 lbs and achieved my goal weight of 176 lb.
I didn't experience any side effects from Obvi Collagenic Burn, but I wouldn't recommend taking it with other products that contain caffeine.
Overall, I would rate this product a 5/10.
I think that is does the job, but I have gotten similar results from cheaper products, and I don't consider this product "special" for the category.
Obvi vs. Popular Weight Loss Supps
Here's how Obvi Collagenic Burn stacks up against other popular weight loss supplements in terms of both potential effectiveness and healthiness, in our opinion:
SkinnyFit
Another popular collagen weight loss brand, SkinnyFit sells a supplement called Super Youth that contains collagen and is marketed for weight loss and skin quality.
While there are inactive ingredients in Super Youth we consider unhealthy, it has no active ingredients we take issue with, as we documented in our SkinnyFit review article.
Winner: SkinnyFit
Burn XT
Contains research-backed active ingredients for weight loss and non-toxic inactive ingredients.
Like Obvi Collagenic Burn, contains green tea extract which we generally recommend avoiding, but this is the only ingredient that we disagree with in the Burn XT formulation.
Winner: Burn XT
Olly Metabolism Gummies
Contains chromium at a relatively high dose, which is questionable in our opinion, because chromium at high doses is documented to cause toxicity.
However, we consider green tea extract to be a greater health issue, because we've come across vastly more case studies of green tea extract-induced toxicity than chromium toxicity.
Winner: Olly Metabolism Gummies
Collagenic Burn Elite Review
The active ingredients in Obvi Collagenic Burn Elite are shown below:

Multi-collagen matrix is included at the same total dose.
The remaining active ingredients are included in a proprietary blend, which we always consider a negative for consumers, because it fails to list the dose of each active ingredient.
Coconut oil powder is the only unique active ingredient in this formulation, and we can't find any evidence it supports weight loss at the relatively low average ingredient dose in this blend (123 mg).
The inactive ingredients in Obvi Collagenic Burn Elite, shown below, should be safe and non-toxic:

Overall, we consider Obvi Collagenic Burn Elite to be a worse option from a potential effectiveness standpoint, but slightly healthier due to the lack of synthetic vitamins and minerals, CLA and titanium dioxide.
Our Healthy Body Weight Picks

Ceylon cinnamon was shown to support healthy body weight in a 2022 meta-analysis. The study authors concluded that effects were greater at doses at or over 3 grams daily.

Dietary fiber was shown in a medical review published in The Journal of Nutrition to help reduce body weight when combined with moderate caloric restriction (750 calories per day below baseline).
MBG Organic Fiber Potency+ is our top fiber pick because it's certified organic, provides 7 g of fiber per serving and costs under $1.85 per serving at the time of updating this article.
