Insta-Tox Review: Are Botox Creams Legit?

| |

Insta-Tox is an anti-aging facial cream sold by a company called Serious Skincare. The brand claims that their product is so effective that it’s a “natural alternative to Botox” and that it causes you to “look 10 years younger.”

But does Insta-Tox contain ingredients that are clinically proven to reduce wrinkles? Does it have any questionable additives? How do real users rate and describe the effects of Insta-Tox? And which retailer sells this product for the best price?

In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Insta-Tox to give our take on whether or not the cream is likely to have an anti-aging effect.

We’ll highlight a questionable additive ingredient, feature customer reviews and ratings, and provide a cost comparison to show which retailer sells this product for the best price.

Ingredient Analysis

Insta-Tox ingredients

The ingredients in Insta-Tox are shown above.

Some of the ingredients in this formulation are clinically shown to have anti-aging effects.

Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, which was described in a 2018 medical review to have a “remarkable anti-wrinkle effect.”

Because of its lower molecular weight, sodium hyaluronate can penetrate deeper into skin than hyaluronic acid.

Retinyl palmitate is a vitamin A derivative that was clinically shown to reduce the visible effects of aging, as we documented in our review of Introstem, another anti-aging cosmetic product containing this ingredient.

Magnesium aspartate is a magnesium salt, and this class of compounds is described in a medical review published in the Scientifica journal to enhance skin hydration.

There is one ingredient in this formulation that we recommend avoiding.

Phenoxyethanol is a synthetic preservative shown in clinical research to be toxic to human cells in vitro

Overall, we consider Insta-Tox likely to have an anti-aging effect, but we don't currently recommend this cream due to the inclusion of phenoxyethanol.

Where to Get the Best Price

Customers Rate Insta-Tox

Amazon is a better resource for honest customer reviews than a brand's website in our opinion.

At the time of updating this article, Insta-Tox has been reviewed over 8,000 times on Amazon, and has an average review rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars.

A top positive review from a verified purchaser is written by a user named “Marisia King,” who gave the product a 4/5 rating, and claims it reduced the size of her pores:

“Only issue for me is big pores that keeps my skin from looking smooth and milky. This product shrinks the heck out of them! I use this and blush/bronzer/highlight and it looks better than any pour cover up/foundation I ever used! Happy girl over here.”

A top negative review from a verified purchaser comes from a user named “PLF/ Dallas,” who gave the product a 1/5 rating, and claims that the packaging is poorly created:

“The other issue is that the product is watery and too much product escapes out of the tube at one time. The tube hole is too big and allows air in the tube, making it impossible to control the amount of product coming out. The tube needs to be more like a No. 7 wrinkle filler tube”

Serious Skincare currently has an average rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars on Facebook.

Serious Skincare currently has an average review rating of 1.35 out of 5 stars on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, but the brand responds to the majority of consumer complaints in an attempt to resolve the issue, which is a sign of a high-quality brand.

Conclusion

Insta-Tox contains several research-backed ingredients for anti-aging.

We believe the product is likely to be effective for reducing visible signs of skin aging like wrinkles and dry skin.

We do not currently recommend this product due to the inclusion of a synthetic preservative ingredient that we advise consumers to avoid.

For consumers who are intent on purchasing this product, doing so on Amazon is currently the most cost-effective option.
