Red Boost is a dietary supplement to promote male sexual performance. The brand claims that their product can support erection quality and is “The Most Potent, Fast-Acting Formula.”

But does Red Boost contain research-backed ingredients for improving male sexual performance, or are these just marketing claims? Does the brand contain any questionable additive ingredients? Will it cause side effects? And can an at-home smoothie achieve the same effects at a lower cost?

In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Red Boost based on medical studies to give our take on whether this supplement is likely to be effective, or if it’s a waste of money.

We’ll discuss the potential for side effects, and feature a popular sexual health smoothie recipe.

Ingredient Analysis

Red Boost active ingredients 1

Red Boost contains a large number of ingredients so we’ll analyze the ingredients in sections. The ingredients above are both of the proprietary blend that supports sexual health.

Vitamin C increases intercorse frequency according to a clinical trial published in the Biological Psychiatry journal, but the dose used in the study was 10x the dose in Red Boost.

We can’t find any studies supporting the Vitamin C dose in Red Boost for enhanced sexual function.

Beet root has been clinically shown to reduce blood pressure in unhealthy individuals, which suggests it may benefit erectile function.

However, the average ingredient dose in the blend is only 300 milligrams (mg), and we cannot find any studies supporting this dose for erections or sexual health.

Horny goat weed extract is clinically shown to improve sex drive and potentially enhance erection quality in men, as we documented in our Tabs Chocolate reviews article.

We consider the 500 mg dose in Red Boost to be likely effective.

Citrulline malate was shown in a clinical trial published in the Urology journal to improve erection hardness, but we can’t find any studies supporting its use at as low of a dose as in Red Boost.

Maca root powder can increase libido, but we only recommend supplements that contain gelatinized maca, because raw maca (like that in Red Boost) can cause digestive upset. It’s an indigestible starch like potato.

The remaining active ingredients in Red Boost are shown below:

Stinging nettle extract is a strange choice for a men’s health supplement in our opinion, because it’s clinically shown to increase estrogen levels.

Tongkat ali extract was shown in a 2021 clinical trial to increase testosterone levels in men.

We don’t understand why a probiotic blend is included in a male sexual performance supplement, but see no issue with these ingredients.

The inactive ingredients in this formulation are shown below:

Natural flavors are a broadly defined class of flavoring additives used in foods and supplements, and a medical review published in the Environmental Health Perspectives journal suggests that some flavoring additives and their metabolites may have toxic effects.

Cassia cinnamon contains high levels of a compound called coumarin that is toxic to the liver, as we documented in our review of another sexual health supplement called Pink Pussycat Pill.

Overall, we consider Red Boost likely to be effective for improving sexual desire and somewhat likely to be effective for enhancing erection quality.

We don’t currently recommend this supplement due to the inclusion of natural flavors and Cassia cinnamon, but it’s the best ClickBank supplement we’ve reviewed to date on Illuminate Health, and we commend the brand for publishing the full Supplement Facts label on their website (which is an issue we’ve noted with previous ClickBank supplements).

But will Red Boost cause side effects? We’ll discuss that question in the next section of this article.

Does Red Boost Cause Side Effects?

Red Boost doesn’t appear to be clinically tested, so it’s challenging to say whether or not this supplement causes side effects.

However, we can make an educated guess based on its active ingredients.

Horny goat weed may cause minor side effects such as abdominal discomfort and nausea according to a medical review published in LiverTox.

We don’t consider this side effect to be likely given the dose of horny goat weed in Red Boost.

As mentioned in the ingredient analysis section, raw maca and nettle extract may have the potential to cause minor side effects as well.

Overall, we consider Red Boost unlikely to cause side effects in otherwise healthy adults.

There is no mention of potential side effects on the brand’s website.

Can Smoothies Improve Sex?

Where to Buy Red Boost

At the time of publishing this article, Red Boost only appears to be for sale at the manufacturer’s website.

We don’t want to link to that website because we don’t currently recommend this product, but it can be found by simply searching “Red Boost website” into Google’s search engine.

It’s important to note that the official Red Boost supplement does not appear to be available for sale on Amazon or Walmart currently, but many knock-off products are.

Supplements with names like “Red Boom” and “Red Blast” are currently being sold with similar packaging to Red Boost.

We recommend that consumers avoid products attempting to emulate other products on the market (and even potentially confuse consumers), because this is a sign of a low-quality brand.

Conclusion

Red Boost is the highest-quality ClickBank product we’ve reviewed to date on Illuminate Heath.

While we don’t currently recommend this supplement due to its inclusion of raw maca and natural flavors, we do consider this supplement likely to support male sexual health.

Red Boost contains effective doses of horny goat weed and tongkat ali, both herbs shown in research studies to improve libido and sexual performance in men.

We don’t consider Red Boost likely to cause side effects. All of its active ingredients are well-studied and should be safe for otherwise healthy adults.

For consumers intent on purchasing Red Boost, we recommend doing so on the manufacturer’s official website rather than third-party retailers like Amazon and Walmart, because only the official website appears to have the formulation reviewed in this article.
