Night Shred is a dual-action fat burner and sleep aid supplement sold by Inno Supps. This is a unique combination that we haven’t seen before in an Illuminate Health review, and the brand claims it helps users “experience deep sleep while burning fat.”
But does Night Shred contain research-backed ingredients for weight loss? What about for improvements to sleep? Does the supplement contain any questionable additive ingredients? And how do real users rate and describe the effects of Night Shred?
In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more as we analyze the ingredients in Night Shred based on medical studies to give our take on whether the supplement is likely to be effective for weight loss and as a sleep aid, or if it’s a waste of money.
We’ll also feature real, unsponsored Night Shred user reviews and document what retailer sells the supplement for the best price.
Ingredient Analysis
The ingredients in Night Shred are shown above.
It’s worth noting that the brand does not include any inactive ingredients on the Supplement Facts label. If this formulation does contain inactive ingredients, it’s important that Inno Supps publishes these because this is a consumer safety issue. A consumer may be allergic or otherwise sensitive to an inactive ingredient.
There are some active ingredients in this formulation with research backing for sleep and weight loss.
Passionflower was shown in a 2020 clinical trial to increase total sleep time by over 23 minutes.
Valerian root powder was found to significantly improve sleep quality in a medical review published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine.
Chamomile is also clinically shown to induce relaxation and improve sleep quality, as we documented in our review of another health product containing this ingredient called Dr Teal’s Sleep Spray.
Melatonin is one of the most effective and safe sleep enhancers, and the 3 milligram (mg) dose in this supplement is effective.
Grains of paradise was shown in a 2014 clinical trial to cause fat loss at the exact same dose as is included in Night Shred.
CLA is effective, but is a questionable weight loss ingredient in our opinion. A medical review published in the Nutrition & Metabolism journal reports that CLA increases insulin resistance and oxidative stress at the dose required to cause weight loss.
Overall, we consider Night Shred likely to be effective for improving sleep and causing weight loss. The research backing for sleep enhancement is more impressive in our opinion, but there are effectively dosed ingredients for each outcome.
We don’t currently recommend this supplement due to the inclusion of CLA and due to our concerns about its inactive ingredients.
But how do real users rate and describe the effects of Night Shred? We’ll review in the next section.

Is Night Shred Black More Effective?
Inno Supps sells a more expensive version of Night Shred called Night Shred Black, and its ingredients are shown above.
This formulation is nearly identical to the original Night Shred. The main differences is that magnesium is not included, and ashwgandha is replaced with a compound called Zylaria.
At least one clinical trial has found this patented botanical ingredient to be beneficial for sleep quality, so we’ll consider Night Shred Black potentially more effective than Night Shred for sleep.
We consider the two supplements to be equally effective for weight loss, because their weight loss formulation is the same.
Where to Buy Night Shred for the Best Price
Night Shred and Night Shred Black are sold at a variety of online retailers. Here’s a price breakdown:
Night Shred
Amazon: $49.99
Brand website: $44.99 (link)
Night Shred Black
eBay: $55 (third-party seller)
Brand website: $59.99 (link)
We recommend avoiding third-party sellers due to potentially increased risk of counterfeit or damaged products. Inno Supps’ website currently has the best offerings for both Night Shred products.
Will Night Shred Cause Side Effects?
Night Shred doesn’t appear to have been studied in any clinical trials, so it’s impossible to say for certain whether or not the supplement causes side effects. However, we can make an educated guess based on its ingredients.
For the most part, the active ingredients in Night Shred are non-toxic and safe. However, the lack of clarity about inactive ingredients makes us slightly more concerned about side effects than with the average supplement.
Without being sure of the full list of ingredients, it’s hard to ascertain side effect risk.
Melatonin may cause daytime drowsiness according to a medical review published in the CNS Drugs journal, but this side effect was experienced fewer than 2% of the time.
Overall, we do not consider Night Shred or Night Shred Black likely to cause side effects in healthy adults, and their stimulant-free nature makes them a safer choice than many weight loss supplements we’ve reviewed on Illuminate Health.
How Does Night Shred Pair With Other Inno Supps Products?
A YouTube creator named “TGu” has a video trying out Inno Supps’ entire “Thermo Shred” fat burning stack which includes Night Shred. It’s an insightful video that covers everything from the taste to the subjective effects to a day-by-day update and is worth a watch for anyone considering this product:
Real Customers Review Night Shred
Amazon is a better resource for honest customer reviews than a brand’s website in our opinion.
Night Shred has been reviewed over 12,000 times on Amazon, with an average review rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars.
The top positive review from a verified purchaser comes from an anonymous Amazon Customer who claims it’s effective but has one minor side effect:
“So it’s been a month and at first I was excited about this. I have consistently worked out 4-5x a week with calorie deficit diet and have lost 8 pounds BUT the way I wake up with this pill is too much for me I would wake up really drowsy despite the tracking of nutrients and hydration nothing seemed to help the morning fog”
The top negative review from a verified purchaser is written by a user named “Amy H” who claims other reviews are sponsored and misleading:
“One thing for certain. Alot of these reviews are sponsored. Somebody said that this had a good flavor. They are capsules. They have no flavor whatsoever. That capsule comment alone should let you know reviews are fabricated to boost hype up on this product so you can buy it and be severely disappointed.”
Inno Supps currently has an average review rating of 1.33 out of 5 stars on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, which sounds bad but that’s the site that most consumers go to complain, so it’s around average.
To the credit of the brand, they respond to the majority of customer complaints attempting to resolve the situation which is a sign of a high-quality brand.
Can Food Supplements Cause Weight Loss?
There are several food-based weight loss supplements with significant research backing.
Dietary fiber is associated with weight loss in clinical trials, especially when combined with caloric restriction.
A landmark medical study found that moderate caloric restriction (750 calories per day below baseline) combined with dietary fiber intake (a minimum of 20 grams per day) caused an average weight loss of 16.03 pounds over 6 months. That’s a pace of 32 pounds per year of weight loss in overweight individuals simply by adding fiber to a moderately-restricted-calorie diet.
The fiber supplement we recommend is SuperGut Fiber Mix, which costs $59.
It contains a clean and effective formulation: a blend of three different types of unflavored dietary fiber and zero additive ingredients. It can be mixed into liquids or foods. Interested consumers can check out SuperGut fiber at this link to the product page on the brand's official website.
MCT oil is derived from coconuts, quickly absorbed by the body and increases metabolic rate, which causes fat loss. A meta-study on MCT oil documented weight loss of 1.12 pounds over 10 weeks. This equates to a potential annualized weight loss of 5.84 pounds with MCT oil supplementation.
We recommend Bulletproof MCT Oil as our top MCT oil product, because it has a clean and effective formulation. The only ingredient is MCT oil derived from coconuts, and the product has no questionable additives. Interested consumers can check out Bulletproof MCT Oil at this link to the product page on the official brand's website. This supplement only costs $15.50 for over a month's worth of product.
