Hairtamin is a brand that sells supplements and topical products used to improve hair quality. The brand claims that their products can promote healthy hair growth, reduce hair loss and encourage stronger hair.
But can dietary supplements really influence hair growth? Does Hairtamin contain research-backed ingredients? Does it contain any unhealthy additive ingredients? And how do real users rate and describe the effects of this brand?
In this article we'll answer all of these questions and more as we review the ingredients in Hairtamin Advanced Formula (the brand's most popular product) based on clinical research to give our take on whether it's likely to be effective for improving hair growth or if it's a waste of money.
Advanced Formula contains a large number of ingredients so we'll break our ingredient analysis into two sections: Vitamins and Minerals, and Other Ingredients.
We'll also review Hairtamin Gummies, highlight some questionable health claims on the brand's website, and share real, unsponsored user reviews of Hairtamin including before and after images.
Hairtamin Advanced Formula Vitamins and Minerals
The majority of active ingredients in Hairtamin Advanced Formula consist of a blend of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D3 and folate.
Some vitamin deficiencies have been associated with hair loss. A medical review published in the Dermatology and Therapy journal concluded the following after analyzing data from clinical trials on vitamins and minerals in hair loss: “Only riboflavin, biotin, folate, and vitamin B12 deficiencies have been associated with hair loss.”
Hairtamin Advanced Formula does contain all four of the above-listed vitamins.
That being said, it seems illogical to take vitamins and minerals to treat hair loss without any proven deficiency in those vitamins and minerals. As we referenced in our review of the Viviscal hair growth formula, we haven't come across any medical evidence that vitamin or mineral supplementation improves hair quality or stops hair loss in individuals without a deficiency.
We don't believe that any of these ingredients are likely to cause hair growth in healthy adults, but we'll review the botanical ingredients in the next section.
Hairtamin Advanced Formula Other Ingredients
The remaining active ingredients in Hairtamin are included in a proprietary (prop) blend, with a total dose of 242 milligrams (mg).
Prop blends only list the total dose, and not the individual ingredient doses, which makes it more challenging to assess each ingredient's efficacy.
Aloe vera leaf powder is the first-listed ingredient in this blend (meaning it's the highest-dosed), but we cannot find any clinical studies suggesting that this plant is effective for treating hair loss, so we will consider this an ineffective ingredient.
Bacopa monnieri leaf extract is a strange ingredient inclusion for a hair growth supplement. The majority of the medical research on this compound is in regard to its cognitive-enhancing properties, and we can't find any clinical evidence that it impacts hair growth.
We cannot identify one single ingredient in this prop blend that's even been studied for the promotion of hair growth, never mind proven to work.
At least the inactive ingredients are safe and non-toxic, but we are extremely unimpressed with this formulation and we do not recommend Hairtamin Advanced Formula. We do not consider this supplement likely to be effective for hair growth.

Where to Buy Hairtamin for the Best Price
Hairtamin is sold at a variety of online retailers. Here's the price breakdown at the time of updating this article:
Brand website: $26 (plus shipping)
Ulta: $25 (plus shipping)
Amazon: $25 (free shipping depending on plan -- link to official Amazon listing)
Standard shipping on orders below $75 from the Hairtamin website costs $6.95, so Amazon appears to be the best choice currently.
Are Hairtamin's Gummies Better?
Hairtamin's gummy supplement, called Gummy Stars, has a similar formulation to the capsule supplement. The main differentiator is the inactive ingredients which are shown above.
There are several ingredients in this formulation that we recommend avoiding.
Added sugar is harmful to human health in excess, and since many Americans already consume too much added sugar in diet, it seems logical to avoid supplements with added sugar.
A medical review published in the Journal of Inflammation Research documents how hair loss is an inflammatory process, so avoiding inflammatory foods like processed cane sugar seems sensible for those seeking a hair loss supplement.
Citric acid is a flavor enhancer and preservative shown in a series of medical case reports to cause whole-body inflammation in a small subset of individuals.
Natural flavoring is a broad categorical term that fails to describe the specific flavoring agents used. While we consider natural flavors to be healthier than artificial flavors, there is clinical research suggesting that some natural flavoring compounds may be toxic to humans, as we documented in our review of FLO Vitamins (another brand that uses this ingredient).
While we don't recommend either product, we consider Hairtamin Advanced Formula to be better-formulated and healthier than Hairtamin Gummy Stars.
Questionable Health Claims on Hairtamin Website
There are a number of uncited and questionable health claims on Hairtamin's website.
The brand claims that vitamin D3 helps reduce hair loss. We haven't come across any medical evidence of this, and this claim is uncited.
The brand claims that zinc helps reduce hair thinning. We haven't come across any medical evidence of this, and this claim is uncited.
The brand claims that their Advanced Formula works on all hair types and textures. We don't understand how they can claim so definitively, without having funded a clinical trial proving so.
We recommend that consumers be wary of wellness companies that make specific health claims without providing any proof of those claims.
Real Hairtamin Customer Reviews
Amazon reviews are a more objective resource for real customer reviews than a brand's website in our opinion.

The most popular positive review from a verified purchaser comes from a user named “Daniel Cruz” who claims that the product solved their hair loss:
