Bloom Nutrition is a dietary supplement brand that sells a wide range of products from workout supplements like pre-workout to general wellness supplements like greens powders. The brand has a clean and simple aesthetic and is popular on TikTok.
But do Bloom’s top-selling supplements actually contain effective ingredients? Do they contain any unhealthy ingredients? What was our Product Tester's experience trying Bloom greens powder for a month? And is Bloom Nutrition better or worse than popular green powder brands like AG1?
In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in Bloom’s top two supplements (Greens & Superfoods powder, and Collagen Peptides) to give our take on whether or not they're healthy.
We’ll also share our Product Tester's honest experience trying Bloom greens powder for a month, and compare Bloom Nutrition to other popular green powder brands to pick our winners (and losers).
Key takeaways:
- Green Superfood Blend has healthy ingredients
- Other blends contain ingredients we consider unnecessary
- We do not currently recommend Bloom Nutrition
Bloom Nutrition Greens Review
The active ingredients in Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods Mango flavor are shown below:

The total fruit and vegetable dose is 2,489 milligrams (mg), which is relatively low compared to most greens powders we've reviewed to date on Illuminate Health.
Organic barley grass powder is included, and is shown in medical research to be a nutrient-dense food that can help naturally detoxify the body.
A recent medical review published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine concluded that fruit and vegetable concentrate supplementation “would result in the reduction of the burden of [cardiovascular diseases].”
We have not come across any research studies suggesting that a fruit and vegetable supplement dose this low has proven health benefits.
We don’t like when supplements try to “do everything.”
It seems illogical for a greens supplement to contain low doses of probiotics, fiber and digestive enzymes instead of just providing a higher dose of greens.
The entire fiber blend only has a total dose of 1.606 grams (g), or only 11% of the amount in one single cup of cooked beans (source).
The inactive ingredients in Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods Mango flavor are shown below:

Citric acid is included in some of the flavored versions of this supplement, and is clinically shown to cause whole-body inflammation in some individuals, as we documented in our Kiala Greens benefits article.
Overall, we consider Bloom Nutrition somewhat likely to support optimal health, but we don't currently recommend it, because we consider it to have a large number of ingredients we consider unnecessary in healthy individuals (like digestive enzymes).
The "Original" version is the healthiest version because it's free from citric acid and natural flavors.
We Tested Bloom Nutrition

One of our product testers named Matt Donnelly tested the Strawberry Kiwi flavor of Bloom Supergreens. Here's his experience:
The canister had an easy-to-open seal. No issues opening, but I did need to dig for the scoop, which is not uncommon for this sort of product.
I generally don’t like green powders that taste too "seaweedy." Bloom does not taste seaweedy at all. The strawberry kiwi flavor tasted exactly as you would expect even though the color is a very dark (seaweed-colored) green.
I use these types of superfood greens powders regularly, so I enjoy the energy boost. Bloom does seem to increase energy and promote digestion in the same way as the others I’ve tried. I don’t know whether it reduces bloating, but I generally don’t get bloated so I couldn’t say either way.
I used the product with water and in my morning shake, and the strawberry kiwi flavor definitely added a fresh and surprising brightness to the shake.
As compared to the other greens powder products I’ve tried, the suggested use is less, and the scoop that’s included is quite smaller. So while the container and product weight might be smaller/less than others, you don’t need to consume as much, which means it will likely last as long as the other kinds.
Overall, I would rate Bloom Supergreens 9/10, and I plan to purchase this product in the future.
Bloom Nutrition Collagen Review
The ingredients in Bloom Nutrition Colostrum & Collagen Peptides are shown below:

The 3.7 g of collagen in this supplement is an effective dose for skin health.
A 2019 medical review found oral collagen supplementation to improve visible signs of skin aging, as well as improve skin elasticity and skin hydration.
The studies included a dosing range between 2.5 g/day and 10 g/day.
Bovine colostrum is clinically shown to support gut health, by reducing intestinal permeability.
This supplement contains no inactive ingredients we consider to be unhealthy.
We consider Bloom Nutrition Colostrum & Collagen to be a healthier choice than the flavored versions of Bloom Nutrition Greens & Superfoods.
Bloom Nutrition vs. Popular Green Powders
Here's how Bloom Nutrition compares to other popular green powder brands in terms of healthiness, in our opinion:
AG1 by Athletic Greens
Contains a large number of synthetic vitamin and mineral additives, which we consider unnecessary given that at least one meta-study found that multivitamin supplementation can be net-negative for health.
Winner: Bloom Nutrition
Field of Greens
Field of Greens contains one active ingredient which has been shown in medical studies to cause liver injury when used at a high dose over long periods of time.
Bloom Nutrition does not contain any ingredients we consider acutely dangerous.
Winner: Bloom Nutrition
Balance of Nature
This fruit and veggie capsule supplement is free of unhealthy additives, but the brand's website used to feature extremely questionable research studies on rats (which proved nothing to do with human health) before we called them out for it.
Company also received an FDA warning over "adulterated" supplements.
Winner: Bloom Nutrition
Our Clean Green Powder Picks

Starwest Botanicals Organic Green Powder is our top overall green powder pick.
All of its ingredients are organic and nutrient-dense, and it contains ingredients like wheat grass and moringa leaf that the average consumer probably doesn't get in their diet.
Pique Japanese Sencha Green Tea is our top superfood green powder pick.
Green tea was documented in a medical review to support "anti-hypertensive effect, body weight control, antibacterial and antivirasic activity, solar ultraviolet protection, bone mineral density increase."
Both of the products recommended in this section are free of ingredients we consider to be unhealthy.
