B Foxy Review: Can Cream Tighten Thighs?

B Foxy is a firming cream for the inner thighs sold by a popular brand called Maelys Cosmetics. The company claims their product is “clinically proven” and that it helps to firm the appearance of the thighs.

But can a skin cream really firm and tighten skin on the thighs? Does B Foxy contain research-backed ingredients for improving the skin? Does it contain any unhealthy ingredients? And is it better or worse than popular firming creams like Brazilian Bum Bum Cream?

In this article we’ll answer all of these questions and more, as we analyze the ingredients in B Foxy to give our take on whether or not it's likely to be effective for firming the skin, and whether or not it's healthy.

We'll also compare B Foxy to other popular firming creams to pick our winners.

Key takeaways:

  • Contains many effective active ingredients
  • Contains some inactive ingredient we consider unhealthy
  • We do not currently recommend B Foxy

Ingredient Analysis

The ingredients in B Foxy are shown below:

B Foxy ingredients

There are a number of active ingredients in this formulation that have research backing for improving skin quality.

Coconut oil is one of the natural products with the most research backing, and was shown in a clinical trial published in the Dermatitis journal to significantly improve skin hydration.

Shea butter is clinically shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect and to support skin barrier repair.

Tocopherol, better known as vitamin E, was shown in a 2000 medical review to protect the skin from UV damage.

Palmitoyl tripeptide-5 may reduce inflammation in the skin according to a medical review published in the Pharmaceuticals journal.

Panthenol is a naturally-derived moisturizer, as we discussed in our Aquaphor review article.

While there are clearly a number of research-backed ingredients in B Foxy, there are some inactive ingredients that may be questionable from a health perspective.

Phenoxyethanol and sodium benzoate are synthetic preservatives, the former of which was shown in a 2020 clinical trial to be toxic to human cells.

Fragrance is commonly included in cosmetic products, but a 2016 medical review analyzed safety data on this compound and concluded that it can pose a risk to human health.

Red 33 and yellow 6 are synthetic dyes, and as we discussed in our B Tight cream review on another Maelys Cosmetics product, artificial dyes may be harmful to human health.

Overall, we consider B Foxy likely to firm the appearance of the skin as the brand suggests, because it contains many active ingredients clinically shown to improve skin quality through different biological mechanisms.

We don’t currently recommend this product due to the inclusion of the questionable inactive ingredients discussed above.

B Foxy vs. Popular Firming Creams

Here's how B Foxy stacks up against other popular firming creams in terms of potential effectiveness and healthiness, in our opinion:

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Contains sodium hyaluronate; an active ingredient which is clinically shown to have an anti-wrinkle effect.

Similarly unhealthy formulations, so Brazilian Bum Bum cream gets the slight edge in regard to potential efficacy.

Winner: Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Insta-Tox

Marketed as a "botox cream," this product contains a synthetic preservative that's clinically shown to be harmful to human cells, as we documented in our Insta Tox review article.

However, it has similar potential efficacy, and far fewer unhealthy additives.

Winner: Insta-Tox

Crépe Erase

Only contains two inactive ingredients we consider unhealthy, and neither are as bad (in our view) as fragrance and synthetic dyes.

Winner: Crépe Erase

Our Clean Body Cream Pick

MBG Postbiotic Body Lotion is our top body lotion pick.

Squalene (which is included) is clinically shown to hydrate the skin, and shea butter was described as having moisturizing effects in a medical review published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

This product is entirely free of ingredients we consider to be unhealthy.

Conclusion

B Foxy is likely to be effective in our opinion. Like most Maelys Cosmetics products we’ve reviewed, it has an impressive formulation from a potency perspective.

We believe that this product is likely to improve the appearance of skin tightness, to moisturize skin and potentially to promote skin barrier repair.

We don’t currently recommend this product due to the inclusion of several questionable additive ingredients.

We consider Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, Crépe Erase and Insta-Tox all to be better-formulated than B Foxy.
